Daily Prompt #23: Writing from Literature

Listen as I read the following sonnet, then write your reactions to it.

Over the next two days, you’re going to write a sonnet, arguably the most popular form of poetry on the planet.

How to Write a Sonnet :  this is a really cool website about sonnets.  If you like this form, I suggest you check it out!

Also, here’s a compilation of all of Shakespeare’s sonnets.  He’s the gold standard when it comes to sonnets (and all writing, really).

For this Friday’s graded blog post, I’d love to see some original free verse and sonnets.  🙂

(I wonder how many more times I can write the word sonnets on this blog post about sonnets)
