May is Short Story Month!

For the next couple of weeks, we’ll be doing our lessons in reverse order, ending with daily prompts.

Let’s talk about what is involved with Story-A-Day.

By the end of this mini-unit, you’ll have written EIGHT flash fiction stories (and posting three of them on your blog). You’ll be submitting the last one to the Young Writer’s Program Contest and posting it on your blog for a larger grade. Seniors, this post will be your FINAL GRADE for the class, so make sure it’s your best work!

Today, we’re going to consider what we already know about flash fiction and learn a little more by reading this article together.

Now, we’re going to take a look at today’s story of the day prompt and spend a bit of time writing a draft for it.

Daily Prompt #45: Short Story of the Day Prompt #1

The last ten minutes of class, we’ll all be sharing a little something from our stories. Be prepared!
