“Stairs” by the Blog of Squiggles

In January, when I started my journey with writing, I didn’t really know how to write a good poem, or start writing for that matter. I picked up skills that I learned from Mrs.Hoerauf, and I learned how to write poems and get better at writing short stories. I’m still not perfect, but I’m getting there.

I chose this piece because I thought that this was my best piece of poetry that I have written this semester. It also shows the point of view that I think my mother sees me playing videogames.

“Stairs”

Do not go down those stairs again

And leave me for hours on end

For I will have to wring you out once again

Why must you go again

Can’t you stay here with me instead

Do you dare go down those stairs again

That place is evil you know it is

But this time, when you go again, I beg of you again do not

For I will have to wring you out once again

I know, I know I’ve cursed myself

Yes, I did it, I’ve done it, but please I’m begging

Do you dare go down those stairs again

Do not, I say do not go there again

Do you hear me, please do not

For I will have to wring you out once again

Stay with me and do my bidding

For I am the Queen of this kingdom

Don’t you dare go down those stairs again

For I will have to wring you out once again

  1. What an odd piece, interesting but odd. would read again, reminded me of my brother, he had an imaginary friend named P. J. Squiggles, and he falls down and up stairs every day.
